EKAM KIDS – WHERE KIDS FLY HIGH
ENCOURAGING | EXCITING | ENRICHING
We at Ekam envision a classroom where every child feels truly connected to their education. This is the classroom we wish we had as a child. It takes a big heart to help shape little minds. Ekam learning is to make a difference – Encouraging, Exciting, and Enriching!

Eligibility for UKG or Senior Kindergarten is that the child should be 4.5+ years. We take admission to UKG between 5 to 6 years and 5.5 to 6.5 years. The duration of the session is 3.5+ hours, each session being of 30 minutes duration five days a week. In UKG, children are engaged in more significant activities to help them prepare for formal schooling by involving them in age-appropriate activities. Reading, writing, and communication are the key focus at this age. Phonetics is emphasized in the daily lesson plans. Numerical skills, problem-solving, etc. are more enhanced in a fun-filled activity-based manner. There are numerous practice worksheets to develop language, math, and general awareness skills. In UKG as well focus is there on fine and gross motor skills. Rhyme time, storytelling sessions, and library time are loved by children of this age group. Enhancement of social, emotional and personal skills is taken care of most at this stage. Circle time is the usual engagement with fun-filled themed activities. Also hand hygiene, eating without help, keeping their space tidy, cleaning tasks, folding clothes, watering plants, nature walk, cleaning initiatives, clay modeling, pouring of water, orange peeling, banana peeling, etc. are also a part of their fun-filled activities. We believe in a play-way method and in doing so have the kids enjoy the grass ground session every day for 30 to 40 minutes with proper water breaks. The fun-based activities with and without the ball helps them in enhancing their locomotor skills. At this age, we start to introduce basketball, football, and tennis for beginners. After these sessions, the children are encouraged to wash their hands and eat their food (as they come back from play hungry) after a short prayer. We sometimes play the hand hygiene rhyme as well to make the hand-hygiene process more fun. In UKG, The emphasis is given on learning by combining the play-way and formal training methods to help the kids adjust easily to formal schooling methods in the future.

We encourage and celebrate events, festivals, world days, international days, color days, birthdays, etc. Children participate with a lot of enthusiasm in all these celebrations. Traditions are an important part of building a strong bond between family, and our community. Celebrations are some of the core aspects of any culture. They give us a sense of belonging and a way to express what is important to us. They connect us to our history and also help us celebrate generations of family. Celebrating your traditions helps keep you grounded in your own culture while adapting to a new one. These traditional celebrations can brighten up mood for weeks. Celebrating a special day can also help the kids connect with their peers. It can help them keep one foot firmly rooted in their own culture. This also offers learning experiences that might not otherwise occur. Traditional celebrations are also an excellent opportunity for intercultural exchange and understanding. Kids involvement in these celebrations is very important as it creates long-lasting memories.
